Nov 04 – Jan 05                     InSequence Inc                                                          Senior Database Developer

Performed Oracle 9i ETL integration into a data warehouse system.  Isolated ETL script problems.  Redesigned database objects to handle data integration more efficiently.  Tuned the design of slow working views.

Taught an Oracle8i Application Development Course for db-Training while concurrently working as a consultant.  Course curriculum included 128 hours of instructor-student contact time covering database design and modeling, SQL, SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, Forms 6i and Reports 6i.

May 99 – Jul 03                     Sysorex Inc                                                    Senior Systems Engineer

· Oct 99 – Jul 03  Multiple responsibilities in a Department of Defense budget database redesign.  Worked as development DBA and as the main point of contact for Oracle Reports design and redesign.  Many reports were already created, but not fully functional, and lacking standardization.  Created a standardized template for the development team, saving hours of layout design difficulties that everyone was experiencing.  Some of the reports were taking hours to run.  Redesigned the queries more efficiently so that the long running reports were only taking a few minutes to process.  Created a PL/SQL package for all the reports to use, which greatly elimated duplicate coding, and standardized the report setup. Helped many on the team in their PL/SQL, Forms, and Reports design efforts.   Was the Development DBA for a task to make our database work in a Web environment.  Redesigned our form that executed the reports, and set it up to utilize the more current run_report_object Oracle builtin, and redesigned it to be more easily maintainable.  Assisted in the setup of the Oracle Apache application server, and the reports server. Setup a mirror database in our Web environment utilizing Materialized Views, and setup the automation of updating the database by user request.

· May 99 – Oct 99  Created seven new reports and revised numerous existing reports using Reports 2.5 in an Oracle Applications development effort for the US Chamber of Commerce.  Designed and implemented an automated module for data extraction.  The module extracted records from a space-delimited data file provided by the US Postal Service containing address changes and undeliverable addresses, then matched records in the subscriptions tables of the database.  Addresses were automatically updated or flagged as an invalid address.  This process required four PL/SQL procedures and functions, five SQL*Loader control files, and three reports.

· Aug 97 – Oct 97  Conducted preliminary study for transitioning Forms 4.0 and Reports 2.0 to Developer 2000 v1.3.  Identified which groups had forms and reports and provided statistical information on how many forms and reports were available and used by each of those groups.  Identified which forms and reports were created within Designer, those generated using the CASE tool, and which were generated via the CASE tool and subsequently modified.  Following the analysis phase, detailed documentation was developed to assist the client in updating each category from Forms 4.0 to Forms 4.5, and each report from Reports 2.0 to Reports 2.5.

· Oct 96 – Aug 97  Database Engineer for five subsystems in a very large database rearchitecture.  Responsible for coordinating database design, structure, size, tablespace, etc. for each of the database subsystems.  Created, updated, or deleted database entities, tables, indexes, etc. using the Oracle CASE tool.  Served as liaison to the database administration team for implementation and maintenance of each database structure,  and for coordination with all the other subsystems development teams.
